After graduating in accounting, qualifying with CIMA then gaining valuable workplace experience, I have been teaching AAT qualifications since 2003, mainly specialising in management accounting. Teaching is such a rewarding profession where I have been privileged to support and guide people in their decisions to change or develop their careers.
My teaching positions at colleges in Telford and Shrewsbury have enabled me to share my workplace experience and help learners to gain valuable skills for the workplace whether that is in an Apprentice role, a new career direction or to help get that next promotion.
My favourite AAT subjects are Applied Management Accounting and Internal Accounting Systems and Controls, especially helping learners to develop their analytical writing skills.
I live in Shropshire with my husband and two teenage children, currently navigating the world of GCSE’s and A levels.
In my free time I volunteer with a Shrewsbury Storm basketball club where I act as treasurer, we have great fun organising training sessions and events for lots of young people in our community.
My motto:
If you want to pass your exams, you need to practice, practice, practice and learn from your mistakes.
